Alex Darke is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker with nearly 15 years of experience in independent film, television, and digital media.
Alex is the co-founder of Gilded Cinema, an independent motion picture company, Cinema Summit, a filmmaking educational platform, Filmmaking Central, a blog about filmmaking, FilmFinancer, a platform for financing independent films, and he is the co-host of the No-Budget Filmmaking Podcast.
Alex Darke grew up in Las Vegas, NV before moving out to LA to attend the prestigious University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
While in school, Alex produced multiple award winning feature films.
Upon graduating, Alex went into the business of film as an executive for theatrical distribution and international sales companies.
After spending so much time behind a desk, Alex went back on set as the Director of Photography for Larry King’s Emmy-nominated series Larry King Now and Politicking with Larry King.
Now, Alex is developing and producing feature films along side his business partner, Trevor L. Nelson, at Gilded Cinema.

The Gilded Cinema motto – “we believe in cinema” came to be from our desire to reignite true the spirit of independent filmmaking in the wake of a mega studio boom.
